The primary goal is to build capacity and transfer knowledge related to&nbsp;<strong>sustainable forest management worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) via the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE), the program offers&nbsp;<strong>one-month traineeships in Germany<\/strong>. These traineeships are tailored to the individual needs, interests, and experience of the participant. The stay includes a mix of seminars, field trips, and practical training sessions designed to convey the basic principles of sustainable forest management in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program welcomes applicants working in forest management and forest politics, with a special focus on candidates from the priority regions of German development cooperation. Key requirements for the fellowship are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A forest-related education;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant professional experience;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sufficient knowledge of English or German;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A letter of recommendation from a German partner organization (e.g., ministry, forest administration, GIZ, consulting company).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For its second phase, &#8220;Forest Expert Program 2,&#8221; the initiative particularly encourages applications focusing on&nbsp;<strong>multifunctional sustainable forestry in the context of climate change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Forest Expert Program&#8221; aims to establish itself for the long term.
