This FAO pocket guide (2026) is designed for foresters in Europe and Central Asia. It describes methods for early detection and monitoring of dangerous stem pests: planipennis beetles (Agrilus planipennis), Anoplophora glabripennis, Monochamus spp., bark beetles and ambrosia beetles, as well as horntails. The impact of pine nematode, palm weevil and other invasive organisms is discussed separately.
